If you read last Thursday’s post, you know the story. But in case you missed it, here’s the short version: I am terrible about trying new things. Especially when it comes to over-priced alcohol. So I turned to some of my drinkingest Disney friends to recommend some adult beverages for me to try during this year’s Food and Wine Festival. I plan to taste test a sampling and report back after my visit! The Parameters My picky preferences: I don’t love red wine. I like white. I think beer is too heavy for hot Parks, so I typically prefer a lighter, wheat beer. And I tend to stick to simple tequila-based drinks. The Recommendations This week, we have two more recommendations from members of the incredibly sweet and amazing Beers and Ears team:
I’m keying off that you like Blue Moon, a Belgian-style white ale (or witbier). Witbiers are known for their lighter character and are full of wheat, spices, and citrus flavors. Fortunately, Food and Wine will have three white ales that should be as good or better than Blue Moon. First, Hoegaarden at the Belgium booth (don’t worry this won’t turn into a Belgium booth rant) is fairly standard but should compare well to Blue Moon. Cigar City will have their Florida Cracker White Ale at the Florida Local booth; this is one I haven’t tried yet but it rates highly on RateBeer (98 for the witbier style). Finally, Dogfish Head will have Namaste at the Craft Beer Collection booth. It’s a delicious witbier that I was just able to try in the past few weeks. I think you’ll enjoy all three of these.

More suggestions, this time from a very sweet lady whose recommendations included alcohol-sopping snacks:
First and foremost, two go-to’s at Epcot regardless of if you like alcohol or not are the Rosa Regale and the Grey Goose Slush. You can’t mess it up and man they are good. Those are always my first two drink recommendations in Epcot. For Food and Wine specifically… I’ll start you with the craft beer flight #1 (Dogfish Head Namaste, Abita Fall Fest, Leinenkugel’s Seasonal Shandy and Florida Beer Company Devil’s Triangle) at the Craft Beer Booth. In fact, I can’t wait to try this one myself! Next, try the mango-habanero margarita in Mexico. If you hate it, just find yourself an avocado margarita at La Cava. You won’t hate that! Get some chips and guac in Cava while you’re there. Next go get the kielbasa and pierogi in Poland. Just because I’m Polish. Weird? Then find your way to Hops & Barley and get the lobster roll and the cuvée. To finish? Go to Hawaii. First try the Aulani Sunrise. THEN get the pork slider and the Kona Golden Ale and pair them together. Then after all that, please drunk text me how awesome it was!
